Contract Operations WSACC operates one package wastewater treatment systems owned by the Cabarrus County School System.
Mt. Pleasant High School
The Mt. Pleasant facility is a biological process, consisting of split aeration and clarification basins, permitted to discharge 12,000 gallons per day. The school collection system discharges into a float activated wet well/lift station. The raw wastewater pump discharges into a splitter box for two in ground basins. Each basin has separate chambers for aeration and clarification. Aeration and sludge pumping is achieved by the use of 4 single stage blowers. The blowers are controlled by mechanical timers. Sludge wasting is by air lift pumps to a holding basin. Flow discharged from the clarifiers goes through a Sanural type chlorinator for disinfection. The effluent from the plant discharges into Adams Creek.
