Concord, NC — The Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County (WSACC) has been recognized with two prestigious honors at the 2025 Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) Southeast Regional Summit & Awards Banquet for its RRRWWTP Phase 3 Expansion Project.
The first recognition was a Second Place Award in the $10 million to $100 million Water/Wastewater Projects category. The project was applauded for its exemplary teamwork between WSACC, Crowder Construction (the project’s contractor), and Brown & Caldwell (the project’s engineer), which ensured it remained on schedule and under budget.
In addition to this category award, WSACC was named Owner of the Year. This recognition spans all project categories and celebrates organizations that demonstrate leadership and commitment to collaboration in the design-build process. WSACC stood out for fostering a strong partnership environment, starting at the board level and extending through executive leadership and staff. This cohesive approach created a foundation of trust that allowed the design-build team to succeed through unified purpose and shared accountability.
“Receiving these awards proves the extraordinary collaboration between our staff, board, and project partners,” said Chad VonCannon, Executive Director of WSACC. “Our team’s commitment to transparency, trust, and shared responsibility made this expansion project not only possible but exemplary. We are proud to set a standard in design-build excellence.”
The DBIA Southeast Regional Awards celebrate successful design-build projects and teams across the region. WSACC’s recognition highlights its commitment to delivering essential infrastructure with a focus on teamwork, efficiency, and results.
